Bloom Issue of iola magazine
“My mother bought me a little sign from Hobby Lobby a few weeks after returning home from China. It said: Practice Courage Every Single Day. I wept in exhaustion and maybe a little jet lag. Courage was the very farthest thing I felt, and it seemed utterly impossible.
A seed of fear was planted in my heart which led to a season of debilitating anxiety. Before fear grows into a weed, I needed to learn the daily process of cultivating courage. The secret to growing courage? God’s Word.
Through the process of studying God’s Word, specifically the Psalms, I found a seed of faith to plant in my heart instead of fear. By cultivating this seed, through daily Bible reading, a new courage has bloomed in my life. Many of our fears are mirrored by the author’s of the Book of Psalms. Daily reading can help us find God faithful, even in fear.”
Did you know Bible study is my jam? Well, it is. That’s why I’m always creating something new and contributing to things I believe will help you in your search for courage and peace (in God’s Word).
Below you find all kinds of resources to help you! Some of those are free, but before I get to those, I wanted to let you know I’m so excited about this brand new offering! I contributed to this magazine back in February and am honored to be contributing again!
iola is a return to the days before empty phone scrolling, where you can enjoy the tactile and physical pleasure of turning glossy pages filled with promise, healthy promises that bring real life, without being drawn away to a million other websites with pointless content, iola is food for your mind and fresh air for your soul.
iola magazine is something I am proud to be a contributor for, my article “Cultivating Courage” speaks on how we can grow courage or fear when faced with difficult circumstances.

Another great feature of this issue is it contains a playlist of some pretty amazing songs! You can take a listen by clicking on the image below.
And….there is more! Something new in this issue are these amazing verse cards. You can cut them out (and since I have a small laminator, I laminated mine) and keep them handy for when you need a breath of fresh air from God’s Word.
I love Abi’s heart with this issue. She says:
“Iola is meant to be. Breath of fresh air for your mind and beautiful food for your soul. In this bloom issue we explore what it is to bloom where we are planted, through the tough stuff, and in the moment. Even if we don’t feel like we are blooming and in the hard search for beautify….We believe that the world is a better place when everyone blooms.”
