Hi! I’m Sarah. Welcome to the corner of the internet where you can be freed from Bible study shame. My passion is to provide focus so you can start today with a brand new Bible reading and prayer life!
Twelve years ago I left my full-time teaching job to care for my children at home. Those early days were spent reheating my coffee and playing with cars, but I was full of shame. I felt guility for never reading my Bible. I was stuck because I didn’t know if God even heard my prayers.
One Sunday morning I stepped out of church ready to start my week. I was excited and inspired by the message our pastor preached. I held my Bible close to my chest and promised this week would be better.
Fast forward to Monday morning. I woke up late, so I was fixing breakfast while trying to keep my boys from fighting. The day rushed by with diapers, drama, and dishes. After laying my head on my pillow on Tuesday night I remembered my promise to God on Sunday and felt a surge of guilt. I felt so behind and lost when it came to Bible reading and prayer.
For so long I felt the shame and guilt of being a Christian, but rarely reading or praying. I don’t remember when, but one day I decided I wanted to change. I stopped using the excuse that I was busy to just read minutes a day in the Bible.
The hardest part is knowing how to balance both a busy life and Bible study. The secret is waking up each morning know we get a fresh start.
Today I’m a momma of five crazy kiddos, living in Honduras, and just trying to spend time in God’s Word each day (I’m still not perfect). I take one day at a time.
You can start today too. It is ok to be new at this. It is ok to not know what to pray or where to start reading. Just know you are not behind in your Bible reading. I want to walk along side you, offer a cup of coffee, and give you a chance to change.
Don’t settle for shame or guilt. Develop a deeper relationship with God by starting today. Download one of my free resources to revamp your Bible study and prayer life.
