Let’s Read the Bible

Let’s read the Bible! One of my passions is to help you get excited about God’s Word. It is daunting to think about the whole Bible. The passages we are familiar with might be the only ones we read, day after day, week after week, year after year. However, I want to encourage you to read the whole of the Bible.
It can be scary and certainly overwhelming, but I’d like to help you get started. The best way to think about the Bible as a whole is to break it down into each individual book. After getting an overview of the book, it is much easier to dive in and grasp some of each week’s content on the blog. I’ll give you a little bit of information about the book of the Bible.

In each post, I’ll include links to more detailed background information, important articles, or maps to help further your study. When you read the Bible you can do as much (or as little) study on your own as you want. The blog posts will be resources you can come back to over and over again. I can’t wait….Let’s Read the Bible!
For each book, I’ll include anything you will need to get an overview of what to expect when you read that particular book. I’ll also include how this book of the Bible speaks to the whole central theme of the Bible.
That’s right, the Bible has a theme!
The theme of the Bible is that man is sinful, fallen from God’s perfect plan, but God sent Jesus, His Son, as a Savior to redeem and restore mankind and all of creation.
Don’t let the length, the historical context, and the ancient words keep you from reading the Bible. It truly is active and alive. It has the power to change your whole life. I am not being overly dramatic – it truly has powerfully changed my life. That is why I want you to read the Bible with me.

When I started, I didn’t know what I was doing, but over time I’ve learned that God meets me in the pages of His word and He will meet you there too!
Let’s read the Bible!
Whether you are a beginner, have dipped your toe into reading, or have read the Bible your whole life, I hope you will check out each of the posts and find helpful information to further your understanding of the Bible.
Let’s read the Bible – together!
