31 Days {Embrace}
{Embrace}
Embrace. Hold close. Keep near. Savor.
What do we embrace with our hearts? We embrace lies. Half truths. Fear. Doubt. Worry. Anxiety. Sadness. Grief.
Although having those feelings from time to time are not necessarily bad. It is when we begin to embrace them. Do we embrace the cashier at the grocery store? Do we embrace the man on the park bench? Do we embrace the stranger next to us on the bus? No. We do not embrace the things we do not know.
We embrace what we KNOW. We embrace what we want to keep close. We embrace the things we care about…..
Truth.
Grace.
Forgiveness.
Love.
Instead of embracing the lies, I want to embrace truth. Truth about God. His Word. Truth. He is good. All the time. He is faithful. He loves me. He is just. He is the King. The Righteous One. My Father.
Instead of embracing guilt, I want to embrace grace. Grace for myself first. For how can I offer grace to others if I do not embrace it in my own heart first. His grace is enough. It was yesterday. It will be tomorrow. His grace is enough for today.
Instead of embracing bitterness, I want to embrace forgiveness. My sins are forgiven. Embrace it. Hold it close. Don’t hold on to the bitterness of the hurt from others. Offer forgiveness. Embrace it.
Instead of embracing hurt, I want to embrace love. Love for the God who created me. Love for His Word that sustains me. Love for those around me.
Embrace good things.
