When we pray, we often come to the Lord with our grocery list of all of the things we want. And those things aren’t wrong, or even un-spiritual. My “list” includes healing for my heart, for my friends to know the peace of God, and for strength and wisdom for my family members. But as we pray, according to Matthew 6, we find the direction of our hearts matter.
Our hearts should seek FIRST God. Look to who He is and what He has done. When we focus on God’s character, we can take comfort when we pray. We can know our prayers are being heard and we will have all we need – in Him.
