How to Study the Bible Without a Bible Degree

Do you need a Bible degree to study the Bible?

The answer is:

NO

There was a day, long ago, I felt I needed a Bible degree to understand the Bible. Every pastor, preacher, and evangelist I had met had a Bible degree. In my mid-twenties I went back to college. In the middle of having babies, taking care of my house, and six years of online classes, I received a Bible degree. I had papers to write, videos to watch, and lots and lots of good books to read! Did this Bible degree help? Yes! I learned a lot. Each class was so good. I learned how to study the Old Testament, Paul’s letters, and even Revelation!

The most important lesson was this one:

You in fact do NOT need a Bible degree to understand the Bible.

Earlier this month I shared some tools you can use to help you study the Bible, but even if you don’t have those tools, you can still understand God’s Word. I would love to show you how to do it on your own. You don’t have to buy a bunch of commentaries, nor do you need to know Hebrew or Greek.
