10 Timeless Promises of God

Whether we have been Christians for a long time or not, so many of us tend to forget the promises of God. I’ve gathered together 10 promises of God to share with you today because I need these truths repeated in my life.

You will find many blog posts, articles, and websites dedicated to the promises of God, but we cannot just pick and choose verses to fit our idea of God. I have carefully considered each of the promises below because they are clear, black and white, and found throughout Scripture.

God’s promises for Israel differ greatly from those He made for the church. We cannot dive into the ins and outs of various views of theology. Many people much smarter than I am have done so better than I ever could. (You can also check out why understanding Biblical history matters so much here!)

Instead, we will look at these 10 promises of God that are taught not only from Genesis to Revelation, but also apply to God’s people throughout the ages. Here they are. I encourage you to take a few of these—even just one—and memorize one of the verses that goes with the promise to help keep God’s Word close to your heart this week.

10 Promises of God

God provides.
Psalm 23:1

God will never leave us.
Hebrews 13:5

God is in control.
Proverbs 19:21

God will use all the things in our lives to make us like Christ.
Romans 8:28–29

God will save those who call upon Him.
John 6:37

God strengthens us when we are weak.
Psalm 28:7–8

The Holy Spirit speaks for us through prayer to the Father.
Romans 8:26–27

Jesus intercedes for us.
Romans 8:34

Jesus will return for us.
Acts 1:11

God will make all things right in the end.
Revelation 21:1–5

Which one of these promises most resonates with you? I hope you can hold on to each one, no matter what you are facing. God’s promises never fail!
