31 Days {Honor}
{Honor}
Honor was always something I felt was reserved for God. Only He deserved the honor and praise. A special place in our hearts. First. Set apart and unique. Honor wasn’t something I should need or want. Yet, I read:
and
“honor the faithful followers of the Lord, and keep their promises even when it hurts.” Psalm 15:4
So, do we deserve honor? Did God create us to want honor? After teaching my little guys about Creation this week, we discussed why people are more important than animals. God breathed life into us. He gave us characteristics like Himself. God created us as the crown of His creation. We are different than all of the rest of creation. Inside we have more than just tissue and blood. Inside us, He placed parts of Himself. The capacity to love. To choose.
So, yes, we do have honor. Something special. Set apart and unique. We are created in the very image of our God. So, we need not put on false humility and say “I don’t deserve honor.” God has placed on us honor. Who better, than God to give us this amazing privilege. Even more so, we find those who are faithful to be honored.
What are the characteristics of those who are honored?
We are humbled.
We are redeemed.
We are loved.
We are faithful to God and His Word.
We speak truth.
We do what is right.
Honor belongs to those who belong to God.
