#GloriousMotherhood

Let’s get it together mothers. Let’s stop saying our lives are not glorious. Its true, our lives are not glamourous. Our lives our not filled with globe-trotting adventures. We don’t stand before thousands sharing words that inspire. We don’t live in huge houses with maids and nannies and swimming pools. Maybe you do, but it still doesn’t feel glorious – even with all of that. Motherhood is so…..ordinary.

We live between the loads of laundry. With sticky floors and tiny hands. We live with crayon marks on our walls and buying stock in carpet cleaner. We are mothers. Between the messes, mundane, and monotonous we find the mystery of motherhood. We rejoice in the satisfaction, sweetness, and surprises waiting for us each day.

Glorious motherhood means we will live our days reminded of His glory.  To find beauty and redemption from God Himself. For in our glorious motherhood we find His glory.

In the sticky floors, we remember God calls us to walk a path close to Him.
In the piles of laundry, we are given glimpses of the provision He gives us.
In the crying and screaming, we know the tears are held in His bottle.
In the late nights, early mornings, and many coffees heated in the microwave, we know the strength comes from Him.
In kisses, hugs, and laughter our God reminds us of how He rejoices over us.

Glorious motherhood means to live in the ordinary, and celebrate it! Together, we can cheer our weary and wonder-filled hearts along. The journey of motherhood can feel isolating and sometimes our fear of getting it all right can discourage our hearts. Let’s become a community of mothers stand up and say: Good job, momma! You can do this! Motherhood is hard, but oh so glorious! We won’t condemn. We won’t scoff or put down your choices and ideas. Motherhood is glorious in all of the facets.
