For the Woman Who Never Reads Her Bible

For the Woman Who Never Reads Her Bible

Maybe by now you’ve realized by now I’m a big proponent of “quiet time.” Let me clarify: I do not mean the time when life is quiet in volume or when our hearts feel at perfect peace. What I’m talking about has little do with our circumstances and has everything to do with the state of our hearts.

My life is crazy. Anyone who sees and looks in can see it. A friend who hadn’t seen us in awhile made the comment: “Wow, I haven’t seen them all….together before.” What he meant was, with five kids it seems a little overwhelming. My life is a little overwhelming. I have five kids, ages 11 to 4. But I’m not going to compare my crazy to your crazy.

You’ve got your crazy moment too, don’t you!? I don’t care if you have one kid (or no kids), life itself rarely slows down. Time flies and sometimes we aren’t really having fun. How do we make God a priority in our life when life won’t slow down?

Summer is coming, but honestly, any time of the year can hold such busy moments. And the weariness of living in a broken world takes a toll on our hearts. We see families ripped apart by sin, greed, selfishness, and death. Nothing seems fair – but let me tell you a secret: YOU CAN FIND PEACE.

In the sweet moments you get to spend with God and in His word, you will find the strength to make it through one more day. Maybe looking in, you wonder where to start. Maybe you haven’t read your Bible in a very long time – or maybe you have never read your Bible.

For the Woman Who Never Reads Her Bible

Can I offer a suggestion? Start simple. Find a devotional book (this one is perfect), just open up and start. Don’t have expectations or feel like you have to understand everything you read. Take the words on the page as from the Lord (they are) and take them with face value.

In a brand new devotional (released last week), you will find the perfect place to start when it comes to studying the Bible. It takes you to one of the easiest places: the Psalms. No, you won’t understand everything, but can I promise something: you will not walk away after 31 days unchanged.

Take my word for it. Or rather, take God’s Word for it. He says His word will not return void. Make the decision to invest (the PDF is only $7) in your faith. And I know God will meet you there – in the pages of the Bible.

In this book of Psalms Bible study you will find 31 days of encouragement!
