Waiting for God to Fix Things
Waiting for God to Fix Things
I just wanted God to fix it. I believed He could. I’m sure He wanted to, but I couldn’t find a reason why He just wouldn’t fix it. I couldn’t find a reason why He would deny my prayer and not act. In my limited perspective I just didn’t understand. I had this need and God could fill it! The longer He failed to “fix it” the more I started to doubt His love and His power. The doubts came flooding into my mind and I struggled with understanding why God would still not fix this situation?
Have you ever felt like life would just be so much more peaceful if God would just step in to fix it? Whatever it is in your life….
Today, I want to let you know I’m thinking about you. The one who is waiting on God to “fix things.” If I could tell you a few things from my heart, it would be this:
🤍 Instead of waiting for God to remove us from our situations, we can take a step back and marvel at the power of God. God’s power is not limited nor is He unwilling. God is able to change things in an instant. Just because we can’t see God at work doesn’t mean He isn’t capable or even that He isn’t working at all.
🤍 God might not use His power to do what we want Him to do to fix our lives, but God’s power is moving in ways we have no way of knowing. So many times I’ve stressed, worried, and tried to control situations because I thought I could do a better job than God in “fixing” the problem. In the end, I’m just frustrated, disappointed, and sad. If I take a seat, relax, and rest in God’s timing, that is when I find peace. I’ve experienced peace while I’ve waited but also at the end because eventually God did fix many of those situations.
🤍 Our God loves us beyond what we could even imagine. It might take weeks, months, or even years to see how God is working behind the scenes. In the meantime we can believe and have faith in God’s steadfast love for us. Over and over again we read about His love in the Bible. Just because God didn’t fix this didn’t mean He didn’t love me. I thought at first this must be true, but that is a lie. God’s love is not dependent on me. My circumstances do not dictate His love.
“Remember, O Lord, thy tender mercies and thy loving kindnesses; for they have been ever of old.” Psalm 25:6.
🤍 Let’s rest in this truth: we can trust our all-powerful AND our all-loving God to step in when and how He wills. We can trust Him because of this truth. I know it’s hard and it would be easier, but God is working. Most things in this life are unseen. Let’s hold fast to the truth we know from God’s Word! 🤍
