Seven Steps to Raising Grateful Kids
Welcome to TUESDAY TALK!
*I’m so glad to have you join me this Tuesday for our weekly Tuesday Talk Link-Up! Before linking up, let me share with you some things I’ve been learning from one of the best parenting books I’ve read in awhile!
In this brand-new book by Kristen Welch, discover how saying “no” can lead to life’s biggest “yes.”
One of the most powerful chapters is the last one: “Where the Rubber Meets the Road.” In this chapter, she explains how her family has begun to cultivate gratefulness. It isn’t a “sure-fire” method. No check list will keep your children safe or make them grateful. But sometimes seeing how others do it allows us to all grow. You may find that you do some of these things (I did!). But most of these things, I wanted to do – I just didn’t know where to start. You will have to read the entire book to get all of her wonderful advice, but here are Kristen’s Seven Steps to Raising Grateful Kids:
- We teach ownership.
- We stress the value of money.
- We emphasize the value of hard work.
- We teach responsibility and manage consequences.
- We see the benefits of delayed gratification.
- We give our kids a larger worldview.
- We strive to instill faithfulness.
Read more about this in Kristen’s book!
I’ll be giving away a copy of the book at the end of the month! Enter to win here:
