Is Peace Possible?

Is Peace Possible?

Is peace possible? My hands shook and I couldn’t stop them. My entire body felt like getting up and wiggling. It started with my hands, but then my shoulders tightened. I started moving my leg up and down. My husband reached over and grabbed my hand. I still couldn’t control the tremors. My face was flushed red and my eyes attempted to squeeze the tears back in. They spilled over and ran down my cheeks anyway. I struggled to control the feeling of overwhelm.

What was going on?

Anxiety

Anxiety. It had crept up and I could feel the warmth of it spread over my body. Sitting in bed that night I wanted answers. Why Was I feeling this way? Hormones? Unseen stress? The pressure of being everything to everyone? There were no answers to those questions that night.

Not everything in our life has answers. Often I wonder how I can get this peace Paul talks about in Philippians 4:9 “….and the peace of God will be with you.”

Paul also says in Philippians 4:7, “And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Peace is Possible

How do we get this peace that guards both our hearts and our minds?

I don’t know about you, but this life is far too stressful, too busy, and too overwhelming to provide peace for both my heart and my mind.

There are too many things on my to-do list to feel peace. You and I both know that the Bible has the answer. Click here to read more about how to study “peace” in the Bible.

You know that peace is possible. What seems impossible to the world is possible with God.

“Blessed are the peacemakers, For they shall be called sons of God.” Matthew 5:9

Because of Jesus we have peace, but also, we can become peacemakers. This is more than just helping everyone get along. It is more than a referee or a parent keeping their children from fighting. In the last week, we can dive into four different passages to find out how to seek peace, offer peace, spread peace, and have a heart overflowing with peace.

  1. From years past, present, and future I rely on God to be my source of peace in the mist of the storm. Then finally God stills the storm . Praise Jesus!
